Most couples never realize just how much time goes into planning your wedding day. The timeline can become quite overwhelming but don’t worry, I got you! I have been creating timelines for couples for the last 8 + years and know just how to make your day flow perfectly. After photographing over 70+ weddings timelines are a big part of what I do! One thing to know is when you hire me to photograph your day I will guide you every step of the way. Each and every wedding day is different but there are some key elements that will help your day run smoothly as possible. Once we are a month and 1/2 out from your day we will have our in depth phone consultation going over every detail, so I understand your vision and everything that you want at your wedding. This call and the questions we will go over will guide me into creating your perfect timeline for your day.
- The biggest suggestion I tell my couples are allow extra time throughout the day
- Make sure to leave a space in the getting ready area that is free of clutter and things. We want a clean space with natural light or neutral background for you to get into your dress. A corner space work great!
- Make sure all of your details are packed and ready to go in one box so when I arrive I can easily get the box from you to start details. Make sure you ask you florist for some flower clippings so I can add these to your detail shots.
- Give a copy to all your wedding party before hand so they are aware of times and where they need to be. Have your Best man and Maid of Honor be the point person that carries a copy of the timeline to reference from to everyone throughout the day.
- Consider dooing a first look
- Consider having your entire wedding at one location to save the hassle of travel. Including making sure there is a bridal suite and a place for the groom to get ready. This will help in having to get a hotel room and save on travel
First you will want to decide whether or not you guys are going to do a “first look.”
This is a sample guideline I share with couples to better give you an idea of the flow of the day with a first look and how much time you can prepare for.

The wonderful thing is when you hire us to photograph your wedding we will plan an in depth consult where we will go over every detail of your day and we will put together a timeline that will give me enough time to capture all that is important to you. The timeline will be our guide to your day, but with wedding days it’s always good to stay flexible as things do shift. No worries we are completely use to and comfortable with this as well, so if something runs behind or we need to change timeline for whatever reason on the day we will come up with an effective plan quickly without any stress and we will move on and come back to what it was we had to skip. Having a calming presence and having the experience we do allows us to take care of the situation and keep things running smoothly.
We would love to be a part of your day to Meet Amy, owner of Veil of Grace Photography, check out her introduction HERE.
