This beautiful fall wedding at Venue Bella Giornata which is located in Byron Center just minutes from the Grand Rapids Michigan was the setting and backdrop for Makenzie and Andrew’s fall wedding ceremony and reception. Venue Bella Giornata is the newest wedding venue in our West Michigan area, and has been built, designed and decorated with weddings in mind! Newly built and opened in January of 2024. A beautiful location on six acres of land with spaces inside full of natural light, beams & chandeliers, and so much more! An outdoor patio with fire pits, a separate cocktail space, a double-sided bar, tall glass windows, multiple ceremony spots, and two amazing getting ready suites for the couples. The staff and wedding coordinators are top notch and you will be thrilled in your choice to host your wedding here!
Makenzie and her bridesmaids got ready in the cottage bridal suite area, which is a spacious and light filled building equipped with a salon area, private getting ready room, restroom, kitchenette, and space to relax. The front porch has an amazing swing which makes for the cutest photos, and over looks the outdoor patio and larger venue space. Makenzie and Andrew had a special first look in the front of Venue Bella Giornata front door area, that has a gorgeous wood door in the background. They greeted each other with tears as they saw each other makenzie dressed dressed in the most beautiful classic strapless dress, and Andrew dressed in a black suit. They held each other as the tears fell, read vows to each other, hugged some more, and wiped each other tears away. It was one sweetest and most precious first look I’ve been able to capture, and one I will not forget. We continued taking wedding party photos and then family photos so after the ceremony the couple could enjoy being with family for cocktail hour.
Makenzie and Andrew were hoping for a beautiful day with no rain, so they could have there beautiful fall wedding at Venue Bella Giornata outside area, with the fall trees just turning in the background, and could have special guest appearance by Archie, their corgi dog. Despite no rain and a overcast day we did get some high winds from the reminisce of hurricane Helene, but it ended up being a beautiful day. One you could only hope for, for and outside September wedding. The outdoor ceremony space had two deconstructed floral arch filled with white roses and baby’s breath. Archie their corgi dog was the ring bearer. And when they asked for the rings he was suppose to run down the aisle to the bride and groom so they could get the ring box that was attached to the top of his outfit. He managed to eventually get there, but took a different path than anticipated and went through a few aisles, but ended up at the altar with a smiling Bride and groom awaiting. Guest laughed at his cute entrance and appearance.
After the ceremony guests enjoyed yard games and mingled with the couple as they enjoyed cocktail hour with family and friends. Makenzie and Andrew hired a painter who painted guest photos, which was such a special touch. They also hired an amazing band for guest to dance the night away. This was such a lovely day, and such a special couple. Venue Bella Giornata made the perfect backdrop for such a classic and timeless wedding. We highly recommend Venue Bella Giornata, and we can’t wait to go back and photograph another wedding in this beautiful space. A Photographer’s Perspective of Venue Bella Giornata Wedding Venue in Byron Center
As a photographer that has a light and airy style, this is a perfect venue for me. The stylish aesthetic and white walls, with lots of natural light is a dream to shoot in. There isn’t a bad spot at this venue. Literally every single spot at this venue is stunning! Love the vaulted ceilings and warm touch of wood, and all the windows that look out to the venue grounds. I loved the fire pits and covered porch.
There were so many moments that stood out from their day, but a couple of my favorites were their vows together and first look, and their incredibly touching speeches from their loved ones, were so touching and sweet.
I helped Liz and Kevin put a timeline together that allowed time to still enjoy the day and not feel rushed. As I do all my couples, I set up a time to discuss the details and most important things of the day, and how the couple would like things to flow. Makenzie and Andrew also had a coordinator Sam from Seamless planning,which is so helpful in making the day go smoothly. She also makes a detailed timeline of more specific things because there is so much detail that goes into planning the best day of your life. I highly recommend a planner to take all the stress off of you so you can just enjoy your day!
