I spent the evening in downtown Chicago for a beautiful Chicago engagement session along the Chicago riverwalk, where the water is the most beautiful green color. I was thrilled Megan and Austin brought me to Chicago to photograph them in the city they love. Megan grew up not far from Chicago and its always been a special place for them. We are thrilled and so excited to capture all the love for them on their wedding day in Chicago at the beautiful Loft Lucia We enjoyed walking through the city and getting to know each other since i had only met them over the phone. Megan is bubbly and Austin is a bit more quiet. I am sure when he’s coaching football he is much more loud lol. But at least for their session he was quiet, and really wanting to do it mostly for his fiance. Which is so sweet. They are such a wonderful couple, and so very sweet, and know that they got a chance to get to know me, it will make them more comfortable with me on the wedding day.
We originally had to reschedule due to rain, and the original plan was to have there dog come along. Unfortunately he couldn’t make it to the rescheduled date so I will meet him at the wedding and I can’t wait. We are thrilled when couples bring along the fur friends, and all are welcomed. We love animals especially dogs. We started their session at the famous Chicago sign, and eventually made our way to the riverwalk area and Austin navigated us over to North Ave Beach to finish our session. It was a beautiful summer evening and the weather was perfect. Austin wasn’t a big fan of having photos taken, but he was a trooper. I even got some laughs and smiles out of him. Not everyone loves having photos taken and that’s ok. We know just how to get them involved and maybe enjoy it just a little ha. He will be well ready for the wedding day know that he knows what to expect and I told him he will have much more fun since all his closest buds will be with him.
My little gift to them was a bottle of prosecco that i handmade with little pretty flowers. We used it in some of their photos. I love to add pretty things, and love to make the couple feel special and loved, and know how honored I am to work with them. Finishing at lake michigan was the perfect ending to the night. There’s nothing more romantic than dancing and kissing near the water with the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background. It’s just the most beautiful backdrop. We can’t wait to be back in June of 2025 for their special day, and to walk through the city for the most beautiful backdrops for their wedding photos.
